Employees at Magnolia Respiratory Medical Equipment found a way to help Katrina evacuees in shelters in their local area by organizing a medical equipment donation drive. The goal of owners Les Smith and Angela Smith was to provide evacuees with items lost due to the hurricane free of charge. So far they have received and delivered 4 wheelchairs, 5 walkers, 3 hospital beds with mattresses, 5 pairs of crutches, 6 nebulizers, 3 CPAP machines and 3 Oxygen Concentrators. Due to the overwhelming compassion, innovation, and generosity of Magnolia Respiratory and Medical Equipment and the Denham Springs community, many have received valuable, life saving medical equipment in a time of need.
